Civic Sense

Civic Sense

It’s not a bad word to elude, it is something that every one of us must know and practice, it is the social responsibility that every one should posses for the welfare of society, as per our constitution we all have rights to Speak, to write but it doesn’t mean we have rights to speak aloud/rubbish in public places, to scribble rubbish in public properties, remember the same constitution says that “Your liberty stops where others start”.

What does it mean? You have all the rights to swing your hands as far as possible while walking, constitution gives you that rights, however constitution restricts the same if your hand intrudes the other person’s, in short your rights should not cause an inconvenience to the other person, whether it is a law or not, it the basic common sense that intruding in other persons area physically or mentally by your acts or thoughts is unethical. I hope no one with sense will disagree this. However we all witnessing such non-civic sense activities daily in our day to day life, like playing music/commentary aloud in public buses, spitting on the public places, throwing garbage in the public places, when I say public places that includes staircase, public transports, street, common area in your flats/offices. Most of us know that this is wrong, and shouldn’t be doing however we still do it. Few of you might ask me what is wrong in playing music aloud in buses/trains. After all it is entertaining that too free of cost, let me ask, them a question.

Assume that one of your close friend or relative is hospitalized and with critical condition, with all worries in the world you are heading to the hospital, will you be interested in hearing a music/cricket commentary, let it be India vs Pakistan finals or A.R Rehman’s or R.D Burman’s or llayaraja music, definitely wont, rite? To make this situation little worse if you are enquiring persons condition over the phone and your co-passenger is playing music aloud, will you be entertained or frustrated? It’s the same case for your co-passenger you don’t know what mood he is in? It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t enjoy music/commentary while travelling, you can do it very well, that’s the reason why headphones were invented, so that you can enjoy the music without disturbing others, worst than this using profanity in buses/trains especially when kids are your co-passengers.

Spitting on the streets is another big inconvenience and unhygienic as well, not everyone on the streets where footwear thou, if you are the one who fast for sabrimala you would have experienced that inconvenience, you could imagine now. Probably this is the reason why the footwear’s are not allowed in few air-conditioner showrooms or par lour’s, as they know for sure that you would have stepped on few spit tings on the street, worst than this is using public places as rest rooms, think how embarrassing it will be for the females passing by and vice versa?

Keeping loud cell phone ringtones, avoiding queues, over crowding buses, parking vehicles blocking/scratching others, even occupying any common space for more time when others are waiting for the same are few practices which we tend to do often knowingly, and we always find an excuse for these non-civic sense activities, few such excuses are “it is cool”, “time crunch”, “over crowded”.

With a proper time management, over crowded buses/trains can be avoided, we all know that in peak hours the buses will be crowded, and transport authorities are not concerned about increasing the service, it’s because we are all accustomed to travel in congestion like herds, any which ways you are going to travel in there buses, so why should they increase the service which is a over head expense for which the returns are same as before, if at all you stop travelling in crowded buses showing a considerable deficit in their revenues they are not going to increase the service, and its not going to happen over night, it’s a question of self respect as well, check my earlier blog Fatalistic or Irresponsible, as a social animal, it becomes our responsibility to adhere such civic senses, if not for the welfare of the society, but to tell our next generation that we are civilized.

Food for Soul – Divisions

chaatur varnam maya sristam, guna karma vibhagaasha -- Gita

While discussing about the reservation based on caste system, with my friends (don’t sigh I’m not here for that discussion), as the conversation becoming hotter, it moved slightly away from the topic and we started arguing why caste system and how it all started. Ram one of my friend said it all quoted in Veda, that caste system has been invented/implemented by Veda, he quoted the above slogan from Bhagavad Gita.

There were to and fro statements on the same, which I thought to explore and see how close Ram is on this, and it also looks to me as an incomplete sloka. I first want to understand the meaning of this slogan and complete the same.

Chaatur Varnam maya sristam which means four divisions were been created
guna karma vibhagaasha based on Qualities (Guna) and Work (Karma)

This way Lord Krishna himself has said through the Bhagavad gita, that he is held responsible for divisions (Varnas) of people, based on Work and behavior, anyways why this division is required, if there is no such division then this caste system would not have been existed. Now the question is are divisions necessary? Are they for any good? How this world would have been if there is no such divisions.

I started exploring further on this, as this is getting interesting, divisions are in every part of our life, yes, that is true, how? Take for an example our body, head is not same as toe, torso is not same as your thighs, mouth is not same as ears. I know you want to tell me that these are organs and not divisions, and it is parts of the body. Exactly I don’t deny that, what is the body then? How it looks like? If you look deep into it, there is nothing that you can show as body; it is a collective resemblance of these organs (divisions). Once you start removing these organs one by one from the body, you will see nothing there, because body does not exist, if at all it exists, it exists only in the collection of these organs (divisions).

If at all, the body has got no divisions, how it would look like, can you imagine? To the best of my imagination power, it will be like a sphere, because any geometric shape (except circle) will have divisions. There won’t be any difference between the ear, nose, eyes, mouth and all, including the excretional organs, so disgusting. This implies that divisions are implicit and it applies to almost everything that we know, from body, cars, bikes, aircrafts, to land (sea, mountains, plateaus and all) to globe, galaxy, Milky Way and all, divisions are inevitable.

Fine, let divisions be inevitable, why it is imposed by Veda (as per Lord Krishna in Gita), let me ask you one quick question before we proceed on this, if you are asked to become an organ of the body, which organ you would choose to become? Probably, Eyes to see beauty, Ears to hear, Mouth to taste, Nose to smell, Hands to touch, Legs to walk, you probably will choose any of these organs, but I’m sure that no one will ever choose to become Anus to excrete, its only job, it has got no pleasures like other organs, let me tell you a short story here,

Once body organs fought with each other, claiming they are the greatest of all. Eyes said I’m the greatest of all organs, since I show the path to all of you, Brain said, I’m the greatest of all, since I analyze what is seen/shown and decide the best, Heart laughed out loud and said if I haven’t pumping the blood to you (Brain) then you will suffocate to death, so I’m the greatest, and so all the other organs started telling there best feature to claim the greatest of all award, during which Anus is about to say something, all organs interrupted the Anus, and said, you stink, you are no good, you are not the greatest but worst of all, with this insult Anus kept his mouth shut, for next couple days, there is no way the in toxins get out of the body, the blood was not clean, the hemoglobin count came down drastically in the blood, because of which the nourishment that supposed to be supplied to brain was disturbed, brain was going crazy because of which it was not able to send signals to eyes, ears, nose and all, which are failing to sense, Spleen was bulging because of intoxicated blood and so the heart and all other organs. Now all organs understood the importance of Anus, and its job, they all spoke Anus and said you are the greatest of all of us and apologized for their behavior other day. For which Anus replied, I’m sorry for hurting you all, I just want to let you know all, that we all are greatest in our jobs, we don’t have to compete with each other to prove who is greatest of all.

The above story tells that divisions are not bad, but discrimination is. This is what exactly told by Lord Krishna in Gita, let me complete the slogan now,

chaatur varnam maya sristam, guna karma vibhagaasha
tatsye karthaaram mavibthi
agarthaaram aavyayam
-- Gita

We discussed the first line already, lets explore the second and third

tatsye karthaaram mavibthi – means, yes I’m the one who created this division.

Lord Krishna is not denying that he created the divisions, he’s not hiding his face, with great boldness and authority he says “Look Arjuna, I created these four varna’s based on their Karma”

agarthaaram aavyayam – means I’m not responsible for these divisions.

This is the contradiction of the previous sentence, now Lord Krishna says, I’m not responsible for these divisions, we all know that Lord Krishna is mischief and playful, we might tend to think that he is playing with the words again, but it can’t be, he is preaching Gita to Arjuna he cant be playful, he cant be mischief now, then what actually he is trying to preach Arjuna. Lord Krishna actually meant was “I’m not responsible for the Discrimination

So the complete meaning of this slogan is

“I created these four varna’s based on their karma and guna, but I’m not responsible for the discrimination's between them”

If not Lord Krishna, then who is responsible for these discriminations, its none other than we, don’t try to escape, remember when I asked you which body part you would like to become none of us, has said would like to become Anus, we discriminated our own body organs, we also discriminating our own fellow brothers, based on these divisions created by God.

As per Veda, Brahmana’s are born from Head, Shatria’s from Shoulder, Vaishiya’s from Thighs and Sudra’s from the Lotus feet of MahaVishnu.

So they all born from one body, they should not be discriminated, and they can be discriminated only if we discriminate body organs, which we are actually, rite? And remember prostration is done only to the Lotus feet of Maha Vishnu, not to Head, Shoulders or Thighs, no Alwars/Nyanmmars wished to prostrate Head, Shoulder or Thighs but the Lotus feet.

It was always told like this “Kamala Paadha sharana gadhi”, as per my knowledge no Jeer/follower or preacher prostrated “sharana gadhi” to head, shoulder or thighs, but feet which gets utmost importance. So if at all Vedas are responsible for discrimination, then it should be the other way round, Sudra’s should be given more importance then Brahmana, it reality it was not no, so it clearly implies that these verses (Veda/Gita) was misinterpreted by selfish morons to cause this discrimination for their self benefit, but blaming Vedas for the same.

Avatar – My view

The first review I received about this movie was not that good in fact I was told it is not up to the mark, as it has a very thin wafer line story and all, I would like to tell one thing to that friend, that the story is deep rooted just like Pandora’s big tree. The base of the story is about Nature and its bondness with animal kingdom, and how they (Only humans) messing up with it. The story line reminiscence the movie “BATS -- Don’t mess with Mother Nature”. BATS was no were close to AVATAR, the former is about a biological mess up where as the later is about ecological disturbance, it’s a difference between Nano and Macro technology in naïve terms, but BATS are definitely the ancestors of AVATAR, lacking technology and vision.

Avatar – incarnation of humans as humanoids, to plunder a rare mineral found only in ravishing Pandora. A little bit about Pandora (a distant imaginary moon where lives exist) and the people of Na’vi(humans in Pandora). Pandora reminiscence our Lost world (Earth), where once we had good vegetation, thick woods and ravishing flora and fauna, which is endangered now, because of humans exploitation. Humans in Pandora on other hand resemble our ancestors, who inculcated a spiritual bondness with trees and animals, I call this as spiritual bondness because it cannot be measured or identified with any scientific terms that we are known off, as we lack scientists to rediscover this terms/techniques. I let you know why I mention rediscovering rather inventing.

My friend’s second concern about the movie was, that there is no strong scene/dialogue (with punch), but actually there is one by Jake Sully and that is “I probably talking to a tree, but if you can read my senses, read me, I’m from the planet where there is no GREENS”. How true it is? This empathizing the situation, this one scene tells why Jake favors people of Pandora, than his own race. As per the role, he is from a strong scientific background, which moved his soul from his body to another body which resembles to the people of Pandora, is new Avatar, hence the movie name Avatar. This was made possible thru some advance technology, which resembles a technique mentioned in Atharvana Veda, termed as “Kutuvitu Kudu payuradu”. This was imagined to be re-discovered in 2154 AD.

With our GPS technologies, satellites, cell phones and more sophisticated network we struggle to figure out what’s happening in the other part of the world, where the same is achieved by the people of Pandora through the biological nerves of ecological system (Woods). Human race scientists were in re-discovering, this phenomenon mentioned in “Viruksha Sastra”, which was practiced by our ancestors. The same was scientifically proved by Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose, to an extent. Now you know why I call this rediscovering rather inventing.

Movie also reminiscence, our lost instincts, the instinct which a mother lost about her baby’s need, thanks to wireless technologies and remote cameras which has handicapped the motherness, it that not true that we are dependent on some calculating machine to find out answer for this simple thing (256*256)/(16^2) * (4^2)*8*2. Our technology and science has handicapped our senses, handicapped our biological mutation, and we call this as yield of sixth sense, how ignorant we are, where us the rest of the animal kingdom, mutates to become more independent than before, almost all birds can figure out Earthquakes and Tsunami’s well in advance, for which we need satellites and other sophisticated equipments, which is not even 60% accurate as per the Pacific Tsunami station in America, they wonder what kind of inbuilt satellite systems that these birds have, which is not seen in them some 1000 years back. One of the scientist sarcastically told, that rather investing on the satellites and all, we should be investing in understanding the birds language that way we can be more accurate.

Coming back to Avatar, the climax is a war between the inner consciousness of the human and his greediness, a war between an environmentalist and a capitalist. In vedic terms a war between Prathiaksha and Anumana Jnana (Earth) and Saptha Jnana (Pandora). The whole Pandora to me seems to be Hindu Mythological world, probably that’s the reason why I’m able to quote more vedic terms. I’m not sure if this is true, that James Cameron inspired by our Vedas and created this Pandora. If so then Vedas have something in which attracts more people which need to extracted and explored, on the other hand if this is co-incidence, I’m thrilled by Vedas, which depicted our future (may be in another couple of centuries) 1000s and 1000s of years ago.

In short note Avatar is what humans was and wants to be and Pandora is what Earth was and wants to be.

Tapestry of E(e)lam

As most of us know the origin and destruction of LTTE and hue and cries of tamilians across the world for E(e)lam and Srilankan tamilians, which unveiled many political dramas across the globe, many protests, many condemns on and for this island issue. Discussing pros and cons of this is beyond my capabilities and knowledge however the recent political stunt by TamilNadu CM and his team, as a soothing act for indignant tamilians, has forced me to pen down on this.

One thing which was gnawing me for a long time is why the name Eelam, and why not anything else, I thought I should gather the information on this before discussing about this topic, I googled little bit about this name, where I mistyped it as ELAM, in English it still pronounces the same, I was surprised by the meaning, it is the modern Iran way back centuries, say in BC’s was called ELAM, which is known for its warlike people. It sounded very similar to this modern Eelam as well or may be not, tamil purist may grin on this opinion, and might say that Eelam is not known for warlike people but for revolutionary people, I agree may be Elam too had revolutionary people and projected as war prone, only an historian can answer this question, I was not able to get any info on my opinion in the web, it may be coincidence that they both happen to pronounce the same, it seems to be a perfect accident, the way I found this coincidence and the coincidence itself. Anyways let me continue.

After Prabakaran’s dismiss (is it still questionable?), there was daily political stunts and dramas by various political parties in TamilNadu, this includes the ruling government as well, there were allegations against the Srilankan government for violating the human rights for the tamilians in their country, moving a step a head some even said there were both physical and mental tortures on the tamil refugees there, for which they demonstrated hunger strike, this and that, extending their support across the borders and highly agitated for their welfare, every tamilian across the globe felt the heat in their blood by there speeches, dialects rather. For which Tamilnadu CM forced to write a letter a day to keep the opponents attack away to PM of India, requesting and entrusting the welfare of tamilians in that island, and force them to take care of there welfare, where he did flied to discuss when it was sharing of central/cabinet ministerial for his family members.

All those piled up letters of stunts were of no use as opponents were outraging, so he forced to pick some 10 Tamil MP’s, as usual from his party and party which supports him, out of which one was Thirumavalavan, who is the head of his party, who even said violations in Srilanka has crossed its tolerance level, and India should declare a war against Srilanka and suppress its army to save Tamil souls there, his rebellion speech, boiled my tamilians blood in TN, even before the flight to Srilanka he said, that his agency reports has said that tamil people suffer a lot there, srilankan army was/is torturing tamil people and many were killed brutally and so on. By the time he reached Srilanka things were changed drastically it seems, his agency reports seems to be falser, tamilians camps are seems to be well handled and maintained except for drinking water which was little bit contaminated, as reported by one lady MP in the group, otherwise its all fine, and people are not ill-treated, I wont be exaggerating if I say, that MP’s said that Tamilians in Srilanka are happy to stay in camps, and its not satire.

In just two days, Srilankan government has transformed from Bad to Good, government and people who were cursing in less than 48 hrs started praising them, the turmoil in TamilNadu has calmed down, I’m not sure is it the end of tamil turbulence, but it will be soon, and it will be like this always as it has been before.

Tamil MP’s have happy ended this drama with tapestry of their mind.

Chennai to Goa

After a long time, my quest for travel, came true, me along with my colleagues and with their friends, planned a trip to Goa, a beach paradise in north western part of India, we called day off early on Thursday and headed to Goa. We had our first pit stop in less than a kilometer, yeah! You got it correct, as we forgot to take our alcoholic goodies. We called one of our friend back in office, asked him to bring our goodies safely to the pit stop, with the goodies in the cab, we continued our journey, we picked three more on the way and headed towards the National highways, and before we could take a nap I just learned that the driver is getting ready too for the nap, best part is with wheels, it got the shit out of me, thanks to Ravi V one of our travel mate who started a conversation to keep the driver awake and us safe, just like 1001 nights tale 

Roads are pretty good it was like a slide after a bumpy ride, however toll stops are sickest things, I’m exactly not sure for how many kilometers we had such toll stops, but it seems to be more often then the highway motels, after several toll stops we reached Bangalore. By then it started drizzling we started enjoying pleasantness of the weather and headed towards our next destination Tumkur, by this time it started raining, but it was not our concern at this time, as the roads are becoming little bumpy now, for the ongoing highways project, roads are digged every where, suddenly we halted on high way traffic, it’s an accident, I don’t think it is fatal, but sandwiched with huge iron rods.

We started snailing from there, with haunting accident scene, really bad roads ahead, that was roller-coaster ride for next 10 hrs or so, heading towards Mangalore with the hope that the roads will get better soon after, but things are not getting better at all, after couple of pit stops for lunch and dinner, it is still a bumpy ride, and it was raining cats and dogs, with the hopes that things wont get more worse, I took a small nap, in couple of hours van halted, and we learned from the driver, that there was a landslide ahead, and things wont get better until tomorrow, things are getting worse now, its raining cats and dogs, and the language barrier(no one knows Kannda in our van) worsening the situation more.

We quickly had a informal meeting within ourselves, and decided to figure out if there is any alternate route to Goa from there, and if not we will go to Hubli wait till dawn and ahead to Kollore, Udipi, Dharamasala and Saravana, a jolly trip now almost become a pilgrimage if we don’t find the alternate route, “lets see” I said to myself. We figured out there is an alternate route in about 70 kms on the way to Hubli, which is good news, because if that alternative route fails, our second plan is still executable, in few minutes we reached the alternate route junction, and we enquired about the route details with the truck driver near by, he said earlier this route too was blocked the bridge overflowed with water about 10 feet, and two vehicles returned, and few hours back two other vehicle went the same way and it didn’t came back, so assumed the route was clear, it some how sounded sarcastic to us, to be on the safer side, we decided to ahead towards Hubli, driver was feeling sleepy by this time, we decided to halt for few hours, facilitating him for a nap, and we reached Hubli by dawn next day.

We lodged, for few hours to refresh our self, post lunch we vacated and headed towards udipi, roads are still bumpy I think except Bangalore and out skirts of the same, rest of the state yet to be infrastructured, we reached Udipi next day 2 AM, we lodged in a hotel and had a quick nap for few hours, got refreshed headed to Shri Krishna Temple, as many temples in Kerala, in this temple too, shirts are need to be removed, with shirt tucked into my pants exposing my torso, I’m standing in the queue to get the glimpse of Lord Krishna, I thought this is barbaric and uncivilized I mean removing shirts and all, as I was nearing the Karbagraha, I felt so light my so called commonsense started disappearing, I started feeling commonsense itself a burden to man, I started feeling I was nothing, and I owe nothing, and that very feeling was so good, with that emptiness in my soul I had the first glimpse of Lord Krishna, I forgot myself for that moment, I was completely lost, until someone dragged me away, that moment I regained myself, my commonsense recaptured me, I realized I didn’t wished anything to lord, I went back into the queue to wish few things, this time I was not light, this time I was fully occupied, just planning what to ask the Lord, just preparing the list mentally, but the early one was extempore, that feeling was really good, I felt the enjoyment in myself, but this time it was mechanical, conditional, I was not happy with this darshan, I revisited the queue again, and again and again for few more times, to resurrect my first experience, all in vain, with that unknown feeling of pleasure, and wanted to know what the pleasure is I left the premises with astonishment and we reached hotel for a break.

We actually planned to visit Kollur Mookambika temple, same day after that break, but the plan again changed after reaching the hotel, making it true that there is nothing constant except change, and decided to go to Malpu beach near Udipi and to Manipal. As decided we went to beach, had couple of ice creams and headed to Manipal, there is nothing much in there except the university, it is rightly called as university town, we spent few hours discussing what to do there, we didn’t come up with any fruitful ideas, we headed back to hotel, on the way we brought few bottles of beers, to chill out that night, we came to know that we need to vacate the hotel by 2:30 AM tomorrow, to avoid another day rent, as planned we vacated by 3:30 AM next day, and ready to reach Dharmasala, I bought a Dhoti this time, in the process of getting myself prepared to revisit the enjoyment I felt in Udipi, but in vain, I was little bit depressed, the emptiness with I felt in Udipi, which I thought is spiritual and trying to recreate in Dharmasala, but I failed, as I read in many books, it is true, if you are preoccupied, when you are already filled with your opinions/thoughts, this gives no accommodation for the new thoughts, In Dharamasala and in Udipi (except the first time) I was experimenting with my preoccupied theories, however if I would have experimented by true conscious which I did accidently in Udipi, I probably would have reached that stage of emptiness, I read this in many books written by great scholars like Osho, K.V Kamath and all which I failed to recollect. With that amount of satisfaction in myself, I rejoined the team and headed to Bangalore, on a bumpy ghat road, our tire got flat, it took 30 mins or so for the driver to change the tire, and another couple of hours in a near by town to fix the tire. Which delayed our progress, it’s the fifth day of our trip and we reached Bangalore by 9 PM or so, pit stopped for tea and snacks, and then in Hosur for dinner, and started our journey to Chennai, our destination, I was awake for couple of hours, and requested Krishna Das to give company to driver, and I stepped back to have a nap as I need to reach office next day and I slept off, Rajeev woke me up, it was already 5:30 AM and we are in Koyembedu bus stop, greeted everyone and I got down near the bus stop, hired a auto reached home, and I slept like dead for hours.

A Big Fight

As I was surfing through channels, in search of some thing interesting to watch, I was stunned to see this title in NDTV Big Fight program, and it is “Are Naxals terrorists or bandits ? “, doesn’t it dopey? It sounded to me anyways, in either case they are anti-socials, and need to be uprooted. Anyways I was keen to know what there argument is all about and what they are trying to prove here, and so decided to watch this program.

The team which says that Naxals are terrorists wants a military action against them for a bloody massacre, where as the other, who says they are bandits wants them to be arrested and punished as per law, which is hang till death. So in a nut shell one says directly, to kill them and the other says indirectly, to kill them. I’m getting really frustrated, as the people discussing on this insane topic are not novices they are scholars from politics, journalism and couple of human activists and a bunch of spectators, and they are going on blabbering on this, all discussing on this insanity.

At one moment one of the spectator, raised this concern “Has anybody visited the Naxals affected area? Which lacks basic amenities, which is still in the dark ages, which is still under the clutches of capitalists/land lords? People who are suppressed were not able to take anymore, they rebelled to form Naxals” This zipped everyone’s lip for a moment.

This concern tested my patience to the core, I switched to AXN, however the argument was lingering in my mind, I started a debate with myself, what will I do in such conditions? I will rebel, I said. Then are Naxals rebels? May be even terrorists are rebels in one way or the other What made these rebels to be known as terrorists/bandits? To answer this we need to penetrate little under the skin.

Naxalites/Naxals as commonly called, started there ideology in Naxalbari a small village in west Bengal led by Charu Majumdur and Kanu Sanyal, as a revolutionary opposition to the CPI(Marxist), Majumdur greatly admired Mao Zedong, and gathered people in Naxalbari to follow his footsteps, he also inspired the lower class people with his writings (Ref : wiki ). So basically Naxal movements are for the welfare of lower class people, but how? Mujumdar failed to answer that question, because he don’t have the answer and is superiority conscious made him not to accept the same, rather saying no to the peasants who were blindly following him, he redirected the inability and wrathness of the peasants towards the upper class people or rich people. Mujumdar preached that there living conditions are due to these rich class people, which kindled and fueled peasant’s wrath on the upper section. From there Naxals started to destroy the rich class assuming that they are constructing the lower segment, and the war started.

They forgot that constructing the lower segment means reaching the upper section if you start destroying the rich class it means you are going to destroy yourself in the future, and this will be a never ending war, a war of self destruction, it’s a kind of suicidal homicide. Naxals are no more rebels, they were when they started with there ideology they become terrorists and to support there ideology they do banditism.
Naxalism which should have been a cooperative society/movement, rather it took lot of detours and today it finally reached to terrorism, you call it as banditism its still the same, killing innocent civilians, looting their money destroying both public and private properties, cannot be encouraged and should not be tolerated. If civilian action is not enough then impose military action, its not human rights violation, people butchered by them do have rights to LIVE is that not a human rights violation? Common people who are scared of travelling in trains and buses because of these bandits, don’t they have rights to live peacefully? Naxals do have rights to LIVE, but they have to put down their weapons of destruction, there is no concession in it, as long as they question thru ammunitions there answers will also be ammunitions, its rightly said, what you sow is what you reap.

Fatalistic or Unrealistic

On a Saturday morning, after a rhubarb cricket match, I was heading back home along with my friends Sripall, Rajan and Vijay. We took a train to beach station, as we pass by several pit stops, we all noticed one thing, entraining commuters don’t even care for detraining passengers, they didn’t give enough room to detrain and every one were taking this barbaric action for granted, including my friends, when I outrageously said why they are behaving like cattle’s, all my friends unanimously shouted at me to stop jiving at them. One thing I don’t understand when the car is already full, you push and crush yourself, in that jam packed car like cattle, by intruding into others space for which you don’t even excuse, you don’t even feel bad, and you call this as adjustment, but actually you are compromising, you are compromising on your pride, your self respect your liberty last but not the least your dignity.

Why you want to compromise on your private space, as per the Human rights commission of India and Indian Law, your liberty stops where others starts, it also includes your private space, you don’t share the public restrooms with your neighbor just because he is about to blast his bladder, either you wait or make him wait, but for sure you don’t share the space. Though these rules don’t apply in train, however logic does. When the train that you are about travel, gets delayed don’t you gather all buddy passengers and block the other train which is on time, forcing it to get delayed as well, sharing the pain and un-comfortableness instead of joy and happiness to your fellow commuters, redefining socialism.

Now let’s see the arguments that you come up to support your compromising act, inadequate trains, delayed frequencies, procrastinative authorities and deprecative ministries, you blame them all as if you are perfect and promptitude , how many times you raised your concerns to the respective authorities about the sanitary conditions in the trains/buses you travel? How many times you raised your concern to the authorities to increase the frequency of the bus/trains that you travel? Have you ever taken time to notice that in a bus that there are only 25 passengers are allowed to travel as standees? If you have noticed that and till wish to travel as the 26th standee passenger, what you expect me to call you as human or cattle? Cattle cant read, so there are NGO’s to regulate there transport, but you are a human being, you took the pride of being the superior of all creations, you claim to have the sixth sense, however you lack that basic common sense that you should not travel as 26th standee passenger where only 25 standees are allowed.

I know you can come up with several lame excuses, you might be running out of time to office, is that not a lack of time management? There might not be sufficient services after that service? As mentioned earlier, have you raised that concern to the respective authorities? Have you discussed about this with your co-passengers and enlightened them? It is not illogical or unrealistic, what I’m suggesting is practical, and I’m practicing. When Karl Marx suggested the theory of communism, the theory is for 80% needy who were getting crushed by 20% of privileged however his communist theory was called impractical and illogical by those needy, and it was called as unrealistic by the privileged group, however now 20% of that communist country threatens the 80% of the democratic, secularist and capitalistic theories. When Raja Ram MohanRoy was preaching against Sati, he was ridiculed by the society, saying that the reformation is impossible however now you can’t even find the meaning for the word Sati in the dictionary. When society was filled with Theist and theology myths, there was only one spark that rose into fire to burn out the myths, the spark of Atheism is later known as Periyar. When the world was following the foot steps of violence, there was one pair which detour and walked towards non-violence, MohanDas Karamchand Ghandi, later known as Mahatma, superior of all souls.

They all were pooh-poohed by their friends, relatives and family members for theories, claimed them as impractical, however, these theories later become renowned theories. It is true that they suffered a lot to reach this stage, they reincarnated from there dead fish life, yes we are leading a dead fish life, which stinks for those who don’t know how to cook (Enemies) and it’s an appetizer for those who knows to cook (Friends). It’s true that we are leaving for others we are just like that dead fish, only others determine whether we stink or not. The day we start leaving for our own, we will learn from the world and we preach world.

Is that not true, that you feel agitated when some one crushes you in the bus/train, and you still stay like dead fish killing your emotions, you surely want to warn that person, but in that jam packed bus, you fear that your voice may not be heard. You keep yourself mum, if you are in pleasant mood you call this as adjustment/compromise, and if you are disturbed you call this as fatalistic. However once your start knowing this as your irresponsibility you start seeing changes. It doesn’t mean you have to be emotionally jugular but responsible.
